"Little Katie McMullen"
A Stageplay by Rebecca Buckley
Based on the Life of Catherine Cookson (1906-1998)
Acclaimed British Novelist
Little Katie McMullen from age 13 through 91 will surely capture your heart.
She was a remarkable human being who survived the poorest and humblest of environments, and was of the many
immigrant Irish families scraping for work to put food on the table in the early 1900s in northern England.
It was during a physical and mental breakdown when she was 40 soon after she married Tom Cookson, that she
wrote the first of 100 published novels. The life of Dame Catherine Cookson and the love of her husband, Tom,
is truly a story that should be told.
