"Cafe Dustyefsky"

A Stageplay by Rebecca Buckley
Music & Lyrics by Don Dominguez

Sir John, a piano player who feels he is the reincarnation of a Brit gentleman, is hired to play in a piano bar - a dying breed. It is felt that Sir John will save the day by attracting hoards of customers and the piano bar owner will be able to pay his bills and stay in business.

The four characters - Sir John, Devico, Marion, and Victoria - all have stories of their own and reasons for being at Cafe Dustyefsky (yes, I know the spelling is incorrect, it's a different Russian, that's why!) The four interact as naturally as they would in real life: Marion has a crush on Sir John, Devico has a crush on Marion, Sir John has a crush on Victoria, Victoria loves a married man - just like real life, right?

Through all the banter and drama and relationships, Don Dominguez's original melodies and lyrics add a pleasurable layer to this stage play of dialog and pertinent songs.

Although tragedy strikes, there is a bittersweet ending and, yes, the show must go on.
